Neotnas are a three piece Project from Ural in Russia and Spak Deti is their debut album which is the unashamedly retro IDM. If you pine for the days when warp records still released inventive electronic and new sounding(at the time) music , then Spak Deti will be right up your street you can hear traces of Boards of Canada(with out the samples), Plaid and early Autechre. But Neotnas do mange to breed their own nuance and personality in the sound too, making this a tribute and nod back to the old masters, but also looking forward. This is a place where beat patterns whir, lock and slam, melodic synth patterns weave and join. With the odd sample here and there thoughtful placed all to create a highly enjoyable and memorable ride.
