And now the good news - IMPORTANT NEWS CONCERNING THE FUTURE OF THE JUDAS KISS p. II (31/08/09) The door is now ajar for the Judas Kiss Dear Ladies and Gentleman, You may recall some time ago I made the heart-breaking decision to cease the Judas Kiss website in terms of new input. Since I made that immensely hard call I’ve been haunted by the sites presence. It’s constantly been on my mind and like some sort of drug after 10 years or so it’s not something I can just forget about over night or let go of without a fight. Also during this time I’ve been fortunate enough to indulge myself in fantastic new music spanning a whole plethora of genres from psychobilly to punk to neo-folk to martial industrial and so much more and I found myself thinking that these releases need to be given some additional exposure; therefore its with great pride I’m happy to announce that the Judas Kiss is once again re-opening its doors for reviews and interviews. To celebrate this occasion we’re currently working on a much deserved update, not only of a huge wealth of reviews but also an exclusive interview with the ever divine Gitane Demone, all of which will be online in the very near future. Thank you for your time and as they say, welcome back and thank you for sticking with us during this bumpy period. Love Lee Judas Kiss editor, as is! ----------------------- IMPORTANT NEWS CONCERNING THE FUTURE OF THE JUDAS KISS (13/07/09) | | |
| | The curtain call for the Judas Kiss Dear ladies and gentlemen, It’s been a hard discussion to make and not one I’ve taken lightly but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I can no longer give a consistent amount of time to the Judas Kiss that it needs and therefore with much regret and a heavy heart I’m very sad to say this is the final call for it as it stands.
We will endeavour to continue working through the back log of review material we have and receive until the end of July but after that for at least for the remainder of the year we will no longer be publishing any more. Once this year ends a change of circumstances may well mean we open our doors again but for now please refrain for submitting any further material for review.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have believed in the Judas Kiss, have read its pages, both physical and virtually, contributed and supported us throughout our past, especially those hard working souls who have kept the flow of reviews almost constant (take a step forward Simon Collins) and all of the other contributions who have worked with us.
I’d also like to thank all of the bands, labels and publishers who have believed in us enough to send us their work for review. It was meant a lot.
Thank you one and all.

The Judas Kiss is dead long live the Judas Kiss
It is with regret that as from the 03/06/06 the decision has been made to cease the printed version of the Judas Kiss magazine. This was a very hard decision to make and was done so for a number of reasons - please read on
Firstly the spiralling costs of the manufacturing and postage of the magazine has gone up considerably. Therefore to be able to continue producing the magazine of the same quality and page length would mean that the price would have to increase just to cover costs – and this increase is something I felt very strongly about. Compared the costs of mainstream magazines how much more could the cost justifiably rise before readers and distributors said ‘enough was enough’? We don’t have the huge advertisers these mainstream magazines have and therefore the costs are covered by the actual magazine sales themselves.
Of course there’s also the internet, where a whole plethora of information can be obtained instantly for free - something we as a printed concern could never really compete against.
Finally, as I get older my life’s priorities have changed – work and my home life have became more and more important and both leave little time to spend on the increasing work load of writing, editing, laying out, gathering advertising, distributing and selling the Judas Kiss.
I would of course like to thank not only all of the readers who have purchased the Judas Kiss in the past but also all of the bands who have given their time to conduct interviews, the artists and labels who have sent in review material and have advertised in our pages and of course the writers, past and present, who have believed in the Judas Kiss enough to spend hour after hour writing reviews and interviewing bands for inclusion. Without these people, especially Alan Milne and Simon Collins, the Judas Kiss would have never made it this far.
Thank you one and all.
The Judas kiss magazine (printed) has now left the building..
However this is by no means the end of the Judas Kiss in fact its just the start of a new chapter.
As you may already know our website has recently had a huge update of new reviews and another one is planned any day now. Aside from this there will be new interviews included here as well.
All of this means that new reviews and interviews will be made available a lot quicker then was possible the printed magazine. It also means more people will be able to read them which in turn will benefit the artists and labels concerned.
Lee - Judas Kiss Editor
About the Judas Kiss magazine, as was The Judas Kiss magazine was one of the leading small print journals that captured the very essence of the post-industrial scene through the written medium. Focusing primarily but not exclusively on musical aspects of this genre, including such styles as neo-folk, martial/military, neo-classical, noise, dark ambient, power electronics and all that falls in between. Through in-depth, yet delectably readable interviews and articles, the Judas Kiss strives to delve into the very souls of these artists/bands to unearth how and why they produce the powerful and stimulating music they record. Also included within the pages of the Judas Kiss are a splattering of articles that deal with the more esoteric spectrum of subjects, which have over the years become part and parcel of the post-industrial scene. In previous issues these have taken the shape of both interviews and articles that have focussed Satanism, Fetishism, Piercing (both body adornment and ritualistic), Japanese rope Bondage, Odinism, Fascism and its relationship to the post-industrial scene, Female domination, cults and extreme literature.
